In most stealth games being caught is a punishment: the screen goes dark, a sound plays, the level restarts. In SilkWard being caught is a state. The board stops, shows you what happened, and offers two buttons: take back the last move, or start over.
Undo is unlimited
You can undo all the way back to the start of the level, as many times as you like. No counter, no cost, no "three undos remaining".
This is the most fundamental design decision in the game, and everything else rests on it. You can read the board by trying it: if you want to know exactly how far a sentry's chain reaches, walk into it and see. A wrong move costs one tap.
Hints are free too
When you get stuck you can open the hint tiers — first the region, then the opening moves, then the full solution. None of them ask for money, none show an advert, and none take back a star you have earned.
When the game notices you are struggling, the hint button trembles gently. It does not reveal anything; it just reminds you it is there.
Stars are not locks
The next act opens when you finish the main levels of the previous one. You do not need to collect stars. Stars only unlock hidden levels and pieces of the story gallery — an invitation for people who want to replay, never an obstacle for people who want to move on.
What the three stars are is covered on Stars.
It saves itself
The game saves after every move. You can close the app in the middle of a level and come back to exactly the move you left. The save stays on your device and is never sent anywhere.
