Story
The game tells its story without a word. This section explains what that story is and how it is told.
SilkWard tells its story without a single word: no dialogue, no narrator, no text to read between levels. The story is there all the same. The board itself tells it, along with short wordless vignettes at the start and end of each act, which can be skipped and watched again later from the gallery.
The Setting and tone page describes where it takes place, a Silk Road geography that is never named, and the caravan you travel with. It also describes the tone: melancholy but hopeful, never violent, with no villain, only people who have to be got past. It is safe to read before you play.
The other page, Following the trail, tells the story itself. If you have not played yet, leave it closed.

Following the trail
How the narrative is set up and how it moves across the three acts. Leave it closed if you have not played.
